Please read these Terms & Conditions before using the website, submitting a travel inquiry, or authorizing travel arrangements.

By accessing thecontemporarytourist.com, using TCT Intelligence, submitting a form, or requesting services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the applicable website or service.

About the Business

The Contemporary Tourist and travel advising

The Contemporary Tourist is an independent publication, tourism-intelligence platform, and travel-advising brand operated by Ebby Rodgers in Arizona. Website content and TCT Intelligence are provided for educational and informational purposes.

Travel-advising services are offered by an independent travel advisor affiliated with OutsideAgents.com and its host agency, Cruises & Tours Unlimited. The advisor assists with research, recommendations, itinerary development, and travel arrangements but does not own or operate the airlines, hotels, cruise lines, tour operators, transportation companies, insurers, or other suppliers providing travel services.

Starting a Trip

Inquiries, proposals, and service scope

A travel inquiry is a request for information and does not create a confirmed reservation, guarantee availability, or require either party to proceed. A proposed itinerary is a planning document until the required traveler information, written approval, payment or deposit, and supplier confirmation have been received.

Signature Trips are customizable starting points rather than fixed departures. Hotels, room categories, transportation, experiences, inclusions, and pricing may differ from examples shown on the website according to dates, party size, traveler preferences, and live supplier availability.

The scope of custom planning, revisions, booking assistance, and post-booking support will be explained before work begins. Services outside an agreed scope may require a new agreement or fee.

Quotes and Fees

Pricing and planning fees

Prices are not guaranteed until a supplier confirms the reservation and any required payment has been successfully processed. Quotes may change because of availability, exchange rates, taxes, fees, fuel surcharges, supplier changes, or corrected errors.

No separate planning fee is charged for the published Croatia Signature Trip when it is booked through The Contemporary Tourist. Other Signature Trips, custom planning, complex revisions, concierge support, or services outside a published itinerary may carry a planning or service fee.

Any advisor-imposed planning or service fee will be disclosed before it is charged, including whether it is refundable. Supplier deposits, cancellation charges, change fees, and other supplier costs are separate.

Reservations and Payment

Booking authorization

You are responsible for reviewing names, dates, destinations, room categories, flight details, inclusions, exclusions, prices, and supplier terms before authorizing a booking. Traveler names must match the identification or passport that will be used for travel.

Payments for travel arrangements must be processed through the applicable supplier, authorized booking platform, or host-agency process. Do not submit payment-card information through the public website inquiry form or ordinary email.

A reservation is not confirmed until the supplier accepts it and issues confirmation. Failed payments, expired quotes, incomplete information, or supplier rejection may prevent confirmation.

Your Responsibilities

Accurate traveler information

You must provide complete and accurate information for every traveler and promptly review all proposals, invoices, confirmations, tickets, and travel documents. Notify the advisor immediately of an error or discrepancy.

You are responsible for communicating these terms and all supplier requirements to every traveler included in your request. If you act for other travelers, you represent that you are authorized to provide their information and approve arrangements on their behalf.

Supplier Rules

Third-party terms apply

Each travel supplier has its own contract terms, fare rules, deposit schedules, cancellation policies, refund rules, baggage limits, check-in requirements, conduct standards, and other conditions. By authorizing a reservation, you also agree to the applicable supplier terms.

Supplier penalties may apply immediately after booking and may reach 100% of the trip cost. The Contemporary Tourist cannot waive, override, or guarantee an exception to a supplier’s terms.

Travel Protection

Travel insurance is strongly recommended

Travel may involve nonrefundable costs and risks involving cancellation, interruption, delay, illness, injury, baggage, supplier default, emergency assistance, or evacuation. Travel protection may be offered or discussed, but policy benefits, limitations, exclusions, and claim decisions are controlled by the insurer.

If you decline available travel protection, you accept responsibility for losses that could have been covered. The Contemporary Tourist does not guarantee insurance coverage or the outcome of a claim.

International Travel

Passports, visas, entry rules, and health requirements

Every traveler is responsible for obtaining and carrying the correct passport, visa, authorization, identification, vaccination record, consent document, and other material required for the complete itinerary, including transit points. Requirements may depend on citizenship, residency, age, travel history, destination, and trip purpose.

Government and supplier requirements can change without notice. Travelers should verify current requirements directly with the relevant government authorities and suppliers before booking and again before departure.

The Contemporary Tourist is not responsible for denied boarding, denied entry, detention, delay, or loss resulting from missing, expired, inaccurate, or insufficient travel documentation.

Individual Needs

Health, accessibility, and special requests

Tell the advisor before booking about accessibility needs, mobility limitations, allergies, dietary requirements, or other requests that may affect supplier selection. We will communicate reasonable requests to suppliers but cannot guarantee that a request will be accepted or fulfilled.

Travelers are responsible for determining whether an itinerary and its activities are appropriate for their individual circumstances and for obtaining professional medical advice when needed.

Events Beyond Control

Disruptions and itinerary changes

Weather, natural disasters, public-health events, political unrest, strikes, labor shortages, mechanical problems, border restrictions, supplier insolvency, schedule changes, overbooking, government action, and other events may disrupt travel.

The Contemporary Tourist may assist with reasonable alternatives but cannot guarantee availability, prevent supplier changes, or absorb costs imposed by circumstances or providers outside the advisor’s control.

Responsibility for Suppliers

The advisor acts as an intermediary

Travel suppliers are independent entities responsible for delivering their own services. The Contemporary Tourist is not responsible for a supplier’s acts, omissions, representations, financial condition, schedule changes, cancellations, injuries, property loss, service quality, or failure to perform, except to the extent responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.

Recommendations are based on available information and professional judgment, but they are not guarantees of a particular experience, outcome, or level of satisfaction.

Intellectual Property

Website and itinerary content

Unless otherwise stated, original articles, explanations, page designs, graphics, branding, itinerary descriptions, destination interpretations, and planning materials are owned by or licensed to The Contemporary Tourist.

You may use client-facing itinerary materials for your personal trip. You may not reproduce, republish, sell, scrape, commercially exploit, or represent the website, TCT Intelligence, or planning materials as your own without written permission.

Acceptable Use

Prohibited conduct

You may not misuse forms, submit false or unlawful information, interfere with website security, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, use automated systems in a way that burdens the website, infringe intellectual-property rights, impersonate another person, or use the website or services for unlawful activity.

Legal Limitations

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website, TCT Intelligence, editorial content, and general planning information are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted access, accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Contemporary Tourist and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, or losses arising solely from reliance on general website content or from acts or omissions of independent travel suppliers.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Governing Terms

Arizona law, severability, and entire agreement

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where another law must apply.

If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that provision.

These terms, the Privacy Policy, any written service agreement, booking authorization, invoice, and applicable supplier terms together form the agreement relevant to your use of the website and requested travel services. More specific written terms control if they conflict with these general website terms.

Changes to these Terms & Conditions

These terms may be revised to reflect changes in the website, services, suppliers, business practices, or applicable requirements. The current version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Changes apply prospectively unless otherwise required by law.
